Derby Boab tree in the Kimberley region of Western Australia, Australia. This tree will become a source of water for local indigenous people during the dry season. A mature tree can hold about 26,000 gallons (about 98 tons) of water in its sponge tissue. It is also used as the final resting place for human skeletal remains and is believed to have a history of about 1500 years.
